Ways To Give

Your Support is Important to Us

Our Executive Director, Ann Hull Kuster, writes: “As a not-for-profit, HHRR serves a marginalized population. While some people think all people with an eating disorder come from money, that is absolutely not the case. We seek to provide supportive sober recovery homes for all people with ED and other issues, not just those who can afford it.”

There are many, many people who do not have the financial resources to get to treatment at all, let alone pay out of pocket for a much-needed recovery residence. ED are the most expensive brain disorders to treat. Add in SUD and depression and anxiety and trauma, and that treatment typically takes 7+ years, there just aren’t that many people in the world who can afford all that. It is not uncommon that by the time people finally get the treatment they need and it clicks, families are tapped out. Not only may they not have any more emotional stores for their loved one, they may not have any more financial stores either. HHRR does not want to turn anyone away.

We are putting in place a needs-based scholarship program for people who cannot afford to pay the monthly rent to reside at HHRR, especially for the 6-12 months necessary to promote lasting recovery. Donating to the scholarship fund is much more glamorous than donating to the operations fund. While Katie provided seed money for HHRR, much more is needed to open the doors of HHRR and keep them open. Donating to the growth fund may also be appealing to some!

Our first home can only accommodate 4 women. We are planning to have requests from many more women, and men, and all genders for recovery housing. That means we need more seed money to open more homes. We are exploring our next home for women graduating from the current home, and still wanting a sober living environment. Then we need to open a residence for men then another and another.

And the story will unfold as it is supposed to unfold.

Where There is Love, There is Hope

Thank You For Your Support

We specifically started HHRR as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charity so we could go to our community for support and assistance. While we are always applying for foundation and government grants, we also rely on people who understand who we are and what we are doing and have the resources to help.

Now, it’s the perfect time to give. We will send you a receipt of your donation and your donation will be eligible to deduction on your federal taxes. You can choose to donate to our general fund, or you can specifically request your donation go to: the scholarship fund, general operating expenses, or program expansion and the opening of new homes.

Your donations will help our first recovery residence shine. You will also help residents receive the support they need and assist them on their road to recovery.

Thank you.
